A rule is not a complete delivery term
An Incoterms® rule allocates specified delivery tasks, costs and risks, but it does not identify the physical point unless the parties state it. 'FCA Dubai' or 'CIF port' can still be too vague for pricing and execution.
- Name the exact terminal, warehouse, port or address
- State the applicable Incoterms® edition
- Align the named place across quotation, contract and shipping instructions
The point changes cost and risk
Different terminals within the same city or port can involve different handling, access, documentation and waiting costs. The named point also determines where delivery or risk transfer occurs under the selected rule.
- Origin handling and loading responsibility
- Main carriage and insurance scope
- Destination handling, import clearance and inland delivery

Incoterms® rules do not settle title, payment, product acceptance, sanctions, force majeure or dispute resolution. Those matters need separate written terms consistent with the chosen route and delivery point.
